2026-10-10

The revised Export Fuel Surcharge (EFS) and Import Fuel Surcharge (IFS) rates will take effect on 29 September 2026 for non-Federal Maritime Commission (FMC)-regulated shipments, and on 29 October 2026 for FMC-regulated shipments—both effective dates aligned with the applicable fuel price calculation reference date.

These updated surcharge levels will remain in effect until further notice and will be reflected on invoices under the standard EFS and IFS line-item codes.

Maersk attributes this adjustment to sustained pressure on global fuel supply chains stemming from ongoing security developments in the Middle East, which have directly impacted fuel availability and intermodal transport cost structures. The carrier emphasizes that these measures are necessary to ensure service reliability and sustain adequate capacity among contracted inland transportation providers across its regional network.
