Confused! Maersk's Mexico surcharge isn't fixed at all!
2026-10-06

This adjustment reflects increased fuel-related operational costs arising from ongoing developments in the Middle East region. The surcharge will be subject to monthly review, with potential revisions contingent upon prevailing market conditions and cost dynamics.

The surcharge will be itemised on invoices using the following designation codes:

EFS – Export Fuel Surcharge

IFS – Import Fuel Surcharge

For non-FMC-regulated shipments, the Price Calculation Date corresponds to the estimated departure date of the first ocean-going vessel, as specified in the most recent booking confirmation.

For FMC-regulated shipments, the surcharge becomes effective on 1 May 2026. The Price Calculation Date is defined as the date on which Maersk—or an authorised agent acting on its behalf—takes physical possession of the final container listed on the transport document.

In cases where the inland transportation leg for import shipments is arranged subsequent to cargo departure from origin, the Price Calculation Date shall be the date the import shipment record is formally created in Maersk’s operational system.
