The adjusted surcharges will enter into force on 1 August 2026, effective in accordance with the Price Calculation Date (PCD) for non-FMC-regulated trades. For jurisdictions subject to FMC regulation, including the United States, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, the Taiwan Region of China, and Colombia, a 30-day notification period shall apply, while a 15-day notification period will be implemented for shipments to Vietnam.

The revised ECS applies to cargo shipped from the aforementioned Gulf hubs across multiple core trade lanes, including Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the West Coast of South America, the Caribbean, Central America, the East Coast of South America, and South Africa.

Maersk’s adjusted tariff distinguishes between cargo originating from Sohar, Fujairah and Khor Fakkan, and cargo departing from Salalah, with shipments from Salalah generally incurring lower surcharge rates. Dependent on the destination, container category and equipment specifications, the revised ECS ranges from US$2,800 per 20-foot dry container to US$7,700 per 20-foot reefer container.

The carrier confirms that the adjusted surcharge schedule will remain subject to all applicable regulatory notification requirements and standard tariff provisions.
