UAFL has inaugurated the Indian Ocean Shuttle (IOS), a weekly scheduled service linking Mutsamudu (Comoros) and Toamasina (Madagascar). The service is deployed with a 620-TEU container vessel.

Concurrently, MSC has launched the Afungi Shuttle—a project-specific feeder solution supporting infrastructure development for the Afungi liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in northern Mozambique. This service connects Maputo, Nacala, and Afungi before returning to Maputo, forming a closed-loop rotation.

These new feeder services collectively expand port coverage, improve hinterland access, and reinforce logistical capacity to meet rising cargo volumes driven by energy-sector investments and regional trade growth.
