The PSS becomes effective on 15 August 2026, applicable to shipments with a gate-in date on or after that date, and shall remain in effect until further notice.  

The surcharge is structured as follows: USD 600 per 20-foot dry container; USD 1,000 per 40-foot dry and 40-foot high-cube dry container; and USD 1,200 per refrigerated container (reefer) and other specialized equipment units.  

MSC confirms that all other freight components—including base ocean freight, bunker adjustment factor (BAF), currency adjustment factor (CAF), and destination-related surcharges—as published in its most recent Europe–North America tariff announcements for these trade lanes, remain unchanged.
