X-Press Feeders has officially launched its China East Mediterranean X-PRESS (CEX) service—a dedicated weekly container liner service establishing direct, scheduled maritime connectivity between major Chinese ports, the Red Sea, and the East Mediterranean region.
Commencing operations on 23 June 2026, CEX represents X-Press Feeders’ inaugural self-operated deep-sea service linking China directly with the East Mediterranean. The rotation serves key regional gateways, including Alexandria (Egypt), Aliaga (Turkey), Istanbul (Turkey), and Mersin (Turkey), thereby enhancing multimodal access to inland distribution networks across North Africa and Southeastern Europe.
The service is strategically designed to reinforce trade integration with high-potential East Mediterranean markets, while functionally integrating with and reinforcing the carrier’s established China Red Sea X-PRESS (CRX) network—optimising vessel utilisation, port call frequency, and end-to-end transit time reliability.
Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) serves as a pivotal transhipment hub within the CEX rotation, enabling seamless onward connections to 11 additional ports across the broader X-Press Feeders network: Aqaba (Jordan), Sokhna (Egypt), Aden (Yemen), Port Sudan (Sudan), Nhava Sheva (India), Mundra (India), Port Klang (Malaysia), Tanjung Pelepas (Malaysia), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Salalah (Oman), and Hamad (Qatar).
The full vessel rotation is as follows: Qingdao → Shanghai → Ningbo → Nansha → Jeddah → Alexandria → Aliaga → Istanbul → Mersin → Jeddah → Port Klang → Qingdao.
This launch constitutes a material enhancement of X-Press Feeders’ east-west trunk network, strengthening its role as a vertically integrated logistics enabler across the Asia–Middle East–Mediterranean corridor and supporting evolving supply chain resilience requirements.
