1. Port Additional Surcharge (PAE & PAI) at Port Chalmers, New Zealand
A Port Additional Surcharge will be implemented for both import and export cargo handled at Port Chalmers, effective 1 July 2026. The charge applies to all container types and is denominated in New Zealand dollars (NZD): NZD 35 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and NZD 70 per forty- or forty-five-foot equivalent unit (FEU/45’). This surcharge applies uniformly to all inbound and outbound shipments between Port Chalmers and global origins or destinations.
2. Equipment Positioning Service (POE) – Export Charge
The EPS export charge for inland container positioning from Australia and New Zealand via Tauranga (New Zealand) and Brisbane (Australia) to worldwide destinations is being revised upward:
• Tauranga: increased from NZD 105 to NZD 130 per unit;
• Brisbane: increased from AUD 205 to AUD 225 per unit.
The revised rates take effect on 1 June 2026 for non-regulated countries and on 28 June 2026 for regulated countries.
3. Equipment Positioning Service (POI) – Import Charge
Correspondingly, the EPS import charge for cargo arriving at New Zealand via Tauranga and at Australia via Brisbane—from global origins—is aligned with the above export rate revisions:
• Tauranga: NZD 105 → NZD 130 per unit;
• Brisbane: AUD 205 → AUD 225 per unit.
The same effective dates apply—1 June 2026 for non-regulated countries and 28 June 2026 for regulated countries.
