2026-06-06

Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has introduced Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) effective 1 July 2026 on multiple trade lanes, subject to ongoing review.

A PSS of USD 250 per twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and USD 400 per forty-foot equivalent unit (FEU) will apply to all cargo—including dry containers and refrigerated units (reefers)—originating from ports in the West Mediterranean and Adriatic regions and destined for the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Separately, a PSS of USD 200 per TEU will apply to all cargo types—including reefers and specialized equipment—shipped from Northwest Europe, Scandinavia, the Baltic, the West and East Mediterranean, the Adriatic, Greece, and Turkey to Australia and New Zealand.

The surcharge shall be levied based on the bill of lading date, with applicability commencing on 1 July 2026.
