MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company has announced the inclusion of Napier, New Zealand, in its Eagle service—a transpacific container shipping loop connecting the U.S. East Coast with Australia and New Zealand—effective June 2026, as industry reported.
The revised rotation will serve the following ports in sequence: Philadelphia → Savannah → Freeport → Balboa → Papeete → Auckland → Sydney → Melbourne → Brisbane → Wellington → Napier → Tauranga → Cristobal → Balboa → Philadelphia.
This enhancement extends MSC’s port coverage across New Zealand and reinforces end-to-end connectivity between the U.S. East Coast and Oceania, supporting growing trade volumes along key transpacific corridors.
The Eagle service remains one of MSC’s most comprehensive long-haul networks, integrating North American, Oceanian, and transpacific trade lanes into a single, strategically coordinated loop.
