Effective 1 June 2026, a new PSS will apply to dry and refrigerated containerized cargo shipped from China to West Africa under short-term contracts. The surcharge is differentiated by sub-region:
• West Africa Central (covering Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Togo, and Equatorial Guinea): USD 600 per TEU;
• West Africa South (covering Angola, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon, and Cameroon): USD 400 per TEU;
• West Africa North (covering Senegal, Liberia, Mauritania, Sierra Leone, and Guinea): USD 300 per TEU.
Additionally, a new PSS for containerized cargo originating from major Asian ports and destined for Mediterranean ports will take effect on 15 June 2026, remaining in force until further notice. The applicable rates are:
• USD 900 per 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU);
• USD 1,800 per 40-foot equivalent unit (FEU).
This surcharge applies uniformly across all cargo types, including dry, refrigerated, and special equipment.
Separately, a PSS for shipments from Far East ports to Malé, Maldives, will be introduced effective 28 May 2026, at a rate of USD 300 per TEU.
These adjustments reflect industry-wide pricing recalibrations in anticipation of heightened seasonal demand and persistent supply chain volatility.
