Maersk has announced a strategic adjustment to its ASAS2 service, which provides direct container shipping connectivity between the Far East (including key ports in China, Japan, and Korea) and the East Coast of Latin America.
Effective immediately, westbound voyage 626W—originally scheduled to depart from Shanghai on 23 June 2026—has been withdrawn from the rotation. Concurrently, eastbound voyage 632E, previously slated to depart from Santos on 1 August 2026, has also been discontinued.
These adjustments reflect Maersk’s ongoing optimization of network capacity and schedule integrity in response to evolving trade demand and vessel utilization patterns.
To ensure continuity of service for affected customers, Maersk confirms that cargo bookings remain available via its alternative ASAS service, which maintains comparable transit times and coverage across the same trade lane.
For future ASAS2 shipments, customers are advised to redirect bookings to APL Turkey-operated voyage 627W (westbound), which offers aligned port coverage, confirmed sailing dates, and full integration into Maersk’s end-to-end logistics ecosystem.
