Maersk has announced revised import storage tariffs—billed as demurrage charges—for special equipment at the Port of Rijeka (Croatia) and the Port of Koper (Slovenia), effective from the price implementation date of 15 June 2026.
Port of Rijeka – Out-of-Gauge (OOG) Equipment
Applicable to non-dangerous cargo, the tariff structure is tiered by detention duration and container size:
Days 1–6: EUR 20 per 20-foot unit; EUR 40 per 40- or 45-foot unit
Days 7–14: EUR 60 per 20-foot unit; EUR 100 per 40- or 45-foot unit
Days 15–21: EUR 80 per 20-foot unit; EUR 160 per 40- or 45-foot unit
Day 22 onward: EUR 120 per 20-foot unit; EUR 240 per 40- or 45-foot unit
For dangerous goods, all rates are doubled across each tier:
Days 1–6: EUR 40 / EUR 80
Days 7–14: EUR 120 / EUR 200
Days 15–21: EUR 160 / EUR 320
Day 22 onward: EUR 240 / EUR 480
The tariff applies to tank containers, open-top containers, flat-rack containers, and pallet-wide containers.
Port of Koper – In-Gauge and Out-of-Gauge Special Equipment
This tariff covers both standard-gauge and out-of-gauge special equipment. The rate structure for non-dangerous goods follows the same tiered schedule as Rijeka:
Days 1–6: EUR 20 / EUR 40
Days 7–14: EUR 60 / EUR 100
Days 15–21: EUR 80 / EUR 160
Day 22 onward: EUR 120 / EUR 240
For dangerous goods, all tiers are likewise doubled:
Days 1–6: EUR 40 / EUR 80
Days 7–14: EUR 120 / EUR 200
Days 15–21: EUR 160 / EUR 320
Day 22 onward: EUR 240 / EUR 480
