GT Lines adds China-Khor Fakkan service
2026-04-22

GT Lines—Gulftainer Group’s dedicated container shipping arm—has launched its second dedicated China–Khor Fakkan service, designated KCX2, effective 10 June. This expansion, marks a strategic enhancement of GT Lines’ Middle East connectivity and reflects growing demand for reliable, high-frequency capacity on this key East–West trade corridor.

The new KCX2 service operates weekly and complements the established KCX1 loop, thereby increasing total network capacity by approximately 35% and reducing average port-to-port transit time by up to two days through optimized routing and vessel deployment.

KCX1 will retain its current rotation: Nansha → Shanghai → Qingdao → Shanghai → Nansha → Khor Fakkan → Nansha.

KCX2 follows a distinct, geographically diversified sequence: Qingdao → Shanghai → Ningbo → Shenzhen (Dachan Bay) → Nansha → Port Kelang (Malaysia) → Khor Fakkan → Shanghai.

The introduction of KCX2 strengthens GT Lines’ end-to-end logistics proposition in the Gulf region, offering shippers greater schedule flexibility, expanded port coverage—including access to Malaysia’s Port Kelang as a transshipment hub—and enhanced resilience against port congestion or operational disruptions. It further consolidates Khor Fakkan’s role as a strategic gateway linking Chinese manufacturing hubs with Middle Eastern and African markets.
