Each vessel will have a nominal capacity of 24,000 TEU and will be built by Hanwha Ocean, a leading South Korean shipbuilder. The newbuilds will be equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems, supporting the company’s environmental sustainability objectives.
The estimated unit cost per vessel ranges from USD 262 million to USD 295 million—reflecting sustained capital commitment to high-capacity, low-emission tonnage.
This latest order supplements Evergreen’s ongoing newbuilding program, which includes a prior January order for 23 vessels totaling 90,900 TEU. Collectively, these investments reinforce the company’s strategic fleet modernization, enhance long-term operational resilience, and advance its decarbonization roadmap.
