COSCO Shipping Lines has announced the resumption of new bookings for general cargo containers destined for key Middle Eastern markets, effective immediately. This reinstatement applies to shipments originating from the Far East and delivered via integrated multimodal transport solutions. 

The restored services cover the United Arab Emirates (including Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali), Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, and Oman.  

In response to persistent operational constraints in the region, COSCO has implemented resilient, contingency-based routing strategies designed to ensure service continuity while maintaining cargo integrity and schedule reliability. All operations remain subject to real-time assessment of regional security conditions, port operational readiness, vessel space availability, and final carrier discretion.  

For shipments to Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali, COSCO will utilize bonded landbridge connections via Khorfakkan or Fujairah ports—enabling seamless customs-cleared inland transit to destination terminals.  

Shipments bound for upper Gulf countries (e.g., Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar) will be routed through the same bonded landbridge corridors to Abu Dhabi Container Terminal (ADCT), where cargo will connect to COSCO’s dedicated feeder network for onward distribution across the Gulf region.  

For Oman-bound cargo, COSCO will employ a transshipment solution via Nhava Sheva Port (India), followed by final delivery to Sohar Port under coordinated liner schedules.  

COSCO emphasized that these updated routing protocols reflect its commitment to operational agility and customer-centric service resilience amid ongoing regional volatility. The carrier reaffirmed its focus on minimizing supply chain disruption while upholding contractual obligations and regulatory compliance across all trade lanes.
