CMA offer GREEN access to transatlantic service
2026-03-31

CMA CGM has enhanced its transatlantic service network by integrating the wind-assisted vessel NEOLINER ORIGIN—among the first commercially deployed ships on this route to leverage hybrid wind propulsion—into its scheduled liner operations.

This strategic initiative strengthens direct maritime connectivity between Montoir (France) and two key North American ports: Baltimore (USA) and Halifax (Canada), offering customers reliable, round-trip containerized services.

The NEOLINER ORIGIN is designed to carry a full range of cargo types, including dry containers, out-of-gauge units, and refrigerated (reefer) shipments. Its advanced wind-assisted propulsion system is projected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80–90% per ocean crossing relative to conventional diesel-powered vessels, supporting CMA CGM’s broader decarbonization objectives.

The inaugural westbound sailing will depart Baltimore on 24 April 2026; the first eastbound departure from Montoir is scheduled for 16 May 2026. Bookings will be available via CMA CGM’s standard digital booking platforms, with detailed schedules and service specifications published on the company’s official website.

This deployment underscores CMA CGM’s commitment to scaling scalable, low-carbon shipping solutions while enhancing service flexibility and environmental accountability across the transatlantic trade corridor.
