A single sunken ship has completely wiped out Russia's entire Black Sea shipping route!
2026-10-21

The service was initially suspended following the sinking of the FESCO-operated container vessel "FESCO Yanina" near Novorossiysk in August.

Under the revised configuration, Arkas Line has removed Novorossiysk from the REX rotation and designated St. Petersburg as the service’s dedicated Russian gateway port.

The REX is operated by two container vessels, each with a nominal capacity of approximately 1,200 TEUs, deployed on a biweekly to triweekly schedule.

Revised REX Port Rotation:

Alexandria → Mersin → St. Petersburg → Alexandria

This adjustment relocates the Russia Express Service from the Black Sea region to the Baltic Sea, while preserving end-to-end connectivity among Russia, Türkiye, and Egypt through St. Petersburg’s strategic gateway function.
