They will operate on Yang Ming’s East-West routes—linking Asia with North America, South America, and the Mediterranean—to improve flexibility and network resilience.  

All vessels are LNG dual-fuel powered and Ammonia Fuel Ready (AFR), enabling future ammonia conversion without major structural changes. LNG use cuts well-to-wake GHG emissions by ~20% vs. conventional fuel. Each ship features Type B LNG tanks (1.0 bar design pressure).  

Energy-saving features include wind shields, rudder bulbs, pre-swirl stators, and shore power systems. Smart ship systems support real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance; cybersecurity meets IMO standards.  

This order is part of Yang Ming’s fleet renewal plan: 24 new vessels by 2030, including  

• 18 LNG dual-fuel ships: five 15,500-TEU, seven 15,880-TEU, and these six 13,650-TEU units; and  

• Six 8,000-TEU methanol dual-fuel-ready ships.  

The programme advances low-carbon operations, efficiency, and route adaptability.
