The measure has been introduced in response to constrained capacity across Maersk’s inland network, as well as the operational necessity to prioritise the strategic repositioning of Maersk-owned equipment to support system-wide equipment balance and service reliability.
Applicable Inland Services Affected
The suspension covers all export-oriented inland transport solutions originating in Hungary, including:
• Rail-based services and Rail–CY (Rail–Container Yard) combinations;
• CY Budapest / Fenyeslitke Container Yard solutions;
• Store Door (door-to-yard) services.
Ocean-Only Services Remain Unaffected
Customers retain full access to Maersk’s ocean-only transportation services. To utilise these, shippers may arrange their own pre-carriage (e.g., road or rail) to the designated seaport of loading, subject to compliance with Maersk’s applicable commercial terms, tariff conditions, and documentation requirements.
Exception Requests
Requests for exceptions to this policy will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Prior written approval—jointly issued by Maersk’s Product Management and Equipment Management teams—is mandatory before any SOC-inclusive inland booking may proceed.
