Scope of application  

The surcharge applies to exports originating from China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Brunei, Hong Kong (China), Taiwan (China), Timor-Leste, and South Korea.  

Eligible destination markets are Sri Lanka and the Maldives.  

Effective dates  

For the majority of origin countries, the revised PSS will take effect on 31 August 2026. Exceptions apply to two origins: shipments from Vietnam will be subject to the revised rate starting 1 September 2026, and those from South Korea effective 4 September 2026.  

The revised PSS level will remain in effect until further notice from Maersk.  

Applicability note  

Per Maersk’s policy, the PSS applies exclusively to non-SPOT (i.e., contract-based) bookings and is expressly excluded from SPOT (i.e., spot-market) bookings.
