The revised PCTS of USD 250 per TEU will take effect on 26 August 2026 for all applicable routes, except for shipments destined to U.S. territories and Colombia, where the surcharge will become effective on 6 September 2026.
The surcharge applies exclusively to full-container-load (FCL) and less-than-container-load (LCL) shipments originating in the Far East and routed through the Panama Canal. It does not apply to cargo transshipped via alternative corridors (e.g., Suez Canal or overland routes) or to intra-regional movements.
Eligible destination zones include:
Central America East Coast
Caribbean (including Leeward and Windward Islands)
Mexico East Coast
Guyana
Manaus, Brazil
CMA CGM confirms that the PCTS reflects current operational realities, including sustained transit delays, heightened tolls, and capacity constraints imposed by the Panama Canal Authority’s water-level management protocols. The carrier will continue to monitor developments closely and adjust the surcharge as warranted, in accordance with its published surcharge governance policy.
