Under this updated policy, Evergreen will not engage in commercial transactions with individuals or entities listed on official sanctions lists—including consolidated lists maintained by relevant jurisdictions. The prohibition extends to entities in which sanctioned persons collectively hold an ownership interest of 50% or greater, in accordance with widely recognized “50% rule” guidance.
Evergreen reserves the right to decline acceptance of any shipper-owned container where such acceptance may expose the carrier to sanctions-related legal, reputational, or operational risk.
Customers are required to conduct thorough due diligence prior to tendering a shipper-owned container. Specifically, they must verify that neither the container’s registered owner nor the owner of its ISO container prefix is subject to sanctions or otherwise prohibited under applicable law.
Additionally, Evergreen will not accept shipper-owned containers registered under the laws of Iran, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), Cuba, or Syria.
The following ISO container prefixes are currently prohibited for use with Evergreen services:
HDXU, IRSU, ALXU, XBIU, SBAU, BYTU, CBKU, CGVU, NMKU, RZZU, SSFU, SSGU, FESU, FCCU, RZDU, BXAU, VOLU, VOTU, SLVU.
Evergreen emphasizes that this list is illustrative and subject to periodic review and expansion. Customers are advised to consult their designated Evergreen account representative or refer to the latest official guidance prior to booking to ensure compliance.
