This service is strategically designed to support sustained regional economic development, with particular emphasis on meeting the complex logistics demands of the Afungi Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project. It enables the efficient transport of project-critical cargo, including construction materials, heavy machinery, industrial equipment, spare parts, and specialized engineering components.  

Through integration into MSC’s global network, the Afungi Shuttle provides seamless multimodal connectivity to key international trade corridors—including Europe, the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East, and Southern Africa—facilitating end-to-end supply chain visibility and operational continuity.  

The service operates two dedicated feeder rotations: Nacala–Afungi and Maputo–Afungi. All shipments are managed under a single MSC booking reference, with consolidated documentation and a single commercial point of contact, thereby streamlining end-to-end coordination and reducing administrative complexity for project stakeholders.  

MSC confirms that this integrated feeder solution was developed in close consultation with project partners and regulatory authorities to align with national infrastructure priorities and enhance port-to-site logistics efficiency for large-scale energy infrastructure initiatives.
