According to the carrier, Venezuelan port authorities have not yet granted authorization for the resumption of commercial activities at the facility. Consequently, all import and export cargo movements through La Guaira remain suspended pending official clearance.
Maersk maintains full operational continuity across all other Venezuelan ports; La Guaira is currently the sole port affected by this suspension.
Effective immediately, Maersk has suspended the acceptance of new bookings destined for La Guaira from within its Intra-Americas trade lane. Bookings originating from all other geographic regions—including Europe, Asia, and Africa—remain accepted, subject to prevailing operational conditions and further notice.
Additionally, customers are instructed to return empty containers to Maersk’s designated container depot in Puerto Cabello until further notice. This measure aims to optimize equipment utilization and support logistical resilience amid ongoing port restrictions.
Maersk continues to coordinate closely with local operational teams and relevant Venezuelan authorities to mitigate supply chain impacts for customers. Further updates will be communicated promptly as the situation evolves and official guidance becomes available.
