Maersk will implement a scheduled blank sailing on its Northern Star service, effective for the Capitaine Baret 636S (southbound) and 639N (northbound) rotation, in response to seasonal fluctuations in cargo demand and prevailing market conditions.
The southbound voyage is scheduled to depart Shanghai on 6 September 2026; the corresponding northbound voyage is scheduled to depart Tauranga on 17 October 2026.
All affected bookings—excluding import shipments destined for Brisbane—will be automatically rebooked onto the subsequent scheduled vessel in the same service. For imports from Shanghai and Hong Kong bound for Brisbane, Maersk will allocate space on alternative services to ensure uninterrupted weekly service coverage.
This operational adjustment reflects Maersk’s proactive capacity management strategy, designed to align vessel deployment with seasonal demand patterns while maintaining schedule reliability and service integrity across its Asia–Oceania trade lane.
