Maersk updates inland fuel surcharges
2026-05-30

Effective May 27, 2026, Maersk will implement a 5% Export Fuel Surcharge (EFS) and Import Fuel Surcharge (IFS) on the base freight rate for all inland transportation services in Pan India. This adjustment reflects the sustained increase in global fuel prices, primarily attributable to ongoing geopolitical developments in West Asia.

Fuel expenses constitute a substantial component of line-haul operational costs. The persistent upward pressure on fuel prices has materially impacted end-to-end logistics service delivery costs across Maersk’s inland network.

The surcharge applies uniformly to all inland haulage routes and is designed to partially mitigate escalating operational expenditures—without compromising service continuity, reliability, or contractual commitments.
