Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has officially launched the Phoenix service—a newly inaugurated, direct container shipping route connecting major ports across the Mediterranean and the Far East.
Originally scheduled for commencement in 2023, the service entered commercial operation on April 2026 finally. It is deployed with a dedicated fleet of modern, fuel-efficient vessels ranging from 8,000 to 11,000 TEU, thereby enhancing cargo capacity, schedule reliability, and routing flexibility for shippers.
The Phoenix service follows a fixed weekly rotation: Busan → Ningbo → Shanghai → Shenzhen (Shekou) → Singapore → Iskenderun → Trieste → Koper → Rijeka → Aliaga → Singapore → Busan.
This strategic service expansion reinforces MSC’s end-to-end network coverage between Asia and the Mediterranean, aligning with rising bilateral trade volumes and supporting customers’ requirements for resilient, high-frequency, and transit-optimized solutions.
