The 80,000 DWT multi-purpose grain carrier *Guo Yun Hai* has been delivered to COSCO Shipping Development Co., Ltd. The vessel was constructed by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and classed by China Classification Society (CCS), which conducted comprehensive surveys throughout the design, construction, and delivery phases.  

This marks the first domestically developed vessel of its class specifically engineered for large-scale, efficient grain transportation in China. At 229.9 meters in length, the ship features a versatile cargo hold configuration enabling the safe and optimized carriage of bulk grain—as well as general cargo, project cargo, and break-bulk commodities—under a single classification framework. Its advanced integrated systems include automated load monitoring, intelligent ventilation control for grain stability and temperature management, and energy-efficient propulsion and auxiliary systems compliant with IMO Tier III emission standards.  

Notably, the vessel fully complies with IACS Unified Requirement E26 (Cyber Resilience for Ships) and has received CCS Cyber Security Certification—the first such certification awarded to a Chinese-built multi-purpose grain carrier. CCS provided end-to-end technical support, including design review, construction supervision, and commissioning verification.  

By enhancing dedicated grain transport capacity while maintaining flexibility for high-value manufactured goods and industrial equipment, *Guo Yun Hai* strengthens supply chain resilience for agricultural imports and export-oriented manufacturing. Its delivery underscores China’s advancing capability in designing and building technologically sophisticated, regulatory-compliant multi-purpose vessels—and reinforces the nation’s growing role in shaping next-generation maritime logistics infrastructure.
