HMM and Ocean Network Express (ONE) have jointly extended their Far East–Mexico service to include key ports on the West Coast of South America, thereby enhancing maritime connectivity between Asia and Latin America.
Previously operated under the FLX/AX4 alliance vessel-sharing agreement—linking major Far East hubs with Mexican gateways—the service now incorporates scheduled port calls at Callao (Peru) and Guayaquil (Ecuador). As part of this network expansion, additional port rotations have been introduced at Qingdao (China) and Ensenada (Mexico), reinforcing regional coverage and operational flexibility.
To reflect its expanded scope and reconfigured routing, HMM has officially renamed the service the “New West Latin Service (NW4)”. The revised loop comprises the following sequence: Shanghai → Ningbo → Qingdao → Busan → Ensenada → Lázaro Cárdenas → Manzanillo → Callao → Guayaquil → Shanghai
This strategic extension strengthens direct, end-to-end container shipping capacity across the Pacific, supports growing trade volumes between Asia and western South America, and contributes to more resilient and integrated supply chains in the region.
