CMA applies PSS for China to West Africa

CMA CGM will implement a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) for containerized shipments from China to West African destinations, effective 15 March 2026, subject to further notice. The surcharge is structured regionally as follows:  


• Nigeria and South Range: USD 600 per TEU  

Applicable to imports destined for Nigeria, Angola, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon, and Cameroon.  

• Central Range (excluding Nigeria): USD 625 per TEU  

Applicable to imports destined for Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Ghana, Togo, and Equatorial Guinea.

The surcharge applies uniformly to all cargo types and across all contractual arrangements—including Freight All Kinds (FAK), spot, monthly, and quarterly agreements. It is applicable to short-term contracts and remains in force until further notice of carrier.
