2024-11-18

Pacific International Lines (PIL) is poised to initiate a new weekly feeder service, which will establish a direct connection between Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Umm Qasr in Iraq.

Designated as the Iraq Feeder Service (IQF), this initiative is strategically aimed at enhancing PIL’s network coverage and enhancing connectivity across the Middle East. The IQF service is meticulously crafted to complement PIL’s flagship Gulf China Service (GCS), thereby reinforcing our commitment to the region.

As a dedicated feeder service, the IQF is anticipated to significantly improve regional connectivity, further solidifying the ties between the Middle East and PIL’s extensive global network.

The maiden voyage of the IQF service is scheduled for departure from the port of Jebel Ali on November 15, with PIL’s vessel, Kota Handal, at the helm.

Mr. William Ho, General Manager of Long Haul Trade, Line Management at PIL, stated, “The introduction of the IQF service marks our endeavor to expand and deepen PIL’s footprint in the Middle East, while also leveraging the region’s growth potential. This move underscores our dedication to prioritizing our customers’ needs by continuously expanding our reach to offer more comprehensive coverage in the Middle East.”

The service itinerary will follow a rotation of Jebel Ali (UAE) – Umm Qasr (Iraq) – Jebel Ali, with a consistent weekly frequency.

PIL advises that the transit time from Jebel Ali to Umm Qasr will be approximately two days, ensuring a prompt and efficient cargo movement for our esteemed clients.
