CMA CGM introduces a refrigerated cargo surcharge for shipments from America to the Far East.

The French maritime shipping company CMA CGM has informed its clientele about an impending Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) that will come into effect starting November 1, 2024, and will remain in place until additional notice is given.

 

This additional fee will be levied on refrigerated goods shipped from the South American West Coast, the Central American West Coast, the West Coast of Mexico, the Central American East Coast, the Caribbean region, and the Windward Islands, destined for China, the Hong Kong and Macau Special Administrative Regions, Northeast Asia, as well as Southeast Asia.

 

As per the company’s announcement, the PSS will be charged at a rate of $500 per container.
