Gulftainer’s maritime subsidiary, GT Lines, has inaugurated a new direct container shipping service linking Khorfakkan (United Arab Emirates) and Djibouti. Marketed as the Khorfakkan Red Sea Express (KRX 1), the service commenced commercial operations in October 2026.  

GT Lines operates the Khorfakkan–Djibouti shuttle on a biweekly basis using a dedicated container vessel; its nominal capacity remains confidential pending official disclosure.  

The service follows a closed-loop rotation: Khorfakkan → Djibouti → Khorfakkan.  

This initiative extends GT Lines’ network coverage across the Gulf–Red Sea corridor and strengthens Djibouti’s role as a strategic gateway to Ethiopian import and export markets. At Khorfakkan, shippers benefit from seamless intermodal connectivity with GT Lines’ broader service portfolio—as well as with Gulftainer’s integrated port infrastructure and logistics ecosystem.
