The inaugural voyage departed Jebel Ali Port in the United Arab Emirates for Umm Qasr Port in Iraq on 15 October 2026.
According to *Iraq Business News*, citing the Iraqi Ministry of Transport, this reactivation aims to enhance cargo throughput at Iraqi ports, reinforce regional trade connectivity, and expand Iraqi Line’s operational footprint across key Gulf and regional shipping corridors.
The Ministry confirmed that Iraqi-flagged cargo vessels last conducted scheduled commercial operations in the Gulf during the mid-1960s. The initiative was directed by Transport Minister Wahab Salman Mohammed as part of a comprehensive national strategy to revitalize Iraq’s state-owned maritime carriers and strengthen their strategic role in domestic logistics and international trade.
