East Coast of South America to the Americas
Effective 15 October, CMA CGM will introduce a PSS of US$1,000 per TEU for shipments departing from the East Coast of South America.
The surcharge covers consignments destined for the West Coast of South America, Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, Guyana, Suriname, the United States and Canada.
It is applicable to all cargo under long-term contracts.
For the United States and its territories, as well as Latin American jurisdictions requiring extended advance notification periods, this measure will enter into force on 28 October.
Far East to Mauritius
Concurrently, the carrier will implement a surcharge of US$400 per TEU for shipments originating from the Far East to Port Louis, Mauritius.
This PSS will be applicable to all cargo loaded on or after 15 October and will remain in effect until further notification.
For consignments originating in China, CMA CGM confirms that the surcharge will be subject to filing with the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and/or incorporated into the base ocean freight.
China to West Africa
CMA CGM will additionally introduce new PSS for shipments from China to multiple West African markets, effective 15 October.
Consignments departing from Central and South China to Nigeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana and Togo will be subject to a PSS of US$200 per TEU.
The carrier will also implement a US$200 per TEU surcharge for shipments originating from China and its Special Administrative Regions to Guinea.
For consignments destined for Liberia, Senegal, Mauritania, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe, a higher surcharge of US$400 per TEU will apply.
The same US$400 per TEU PSS applies to shipments bound for Angola, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, Gabon and Cameroon.
These West African PSS cover both dry and reefer cargo, and are applicable to short-term contracts.
