Maersk has announced updated Intermodal Fuel Fee (IFF) rates for inland transportation services across the DACH region, Benelux, and Poland, effective from 28 September to 12 October 2026.
The revised IFF percentages—applied to applicable Inland Haulage Import (IHI) and Inland Haulage Export (IHE) charges—are as follows:
Region | Countries | Truck | Barge & BCO | RCO |
DACH | Germany, Austria, Switzerland | |||
Benelux | ||||
Poland | Poland | — |
The IFF is a temporary surcharge, administered under the Energy Fuel Surcharge (EFS) and Intermodal Fuel Surcharge (IFS) tariff codes. It has been in effect since the price calculation date of 16 March 2026 and will remain valid until further notice.
Maersk stated that this adjustment reflects sustained upward pressure on energy prices and ongoing fuel supply volatility, driven primarily by geopolitical developments affecting energy security in the Middle East.
The carrier will conduct biweekly reviews of the IFF to ensure alignment with prevailing energy market conditions and will communicate any subsequent adjustments in advance.
