The decision follows a significant increase in depot utilisation rates and a corresponding reduction in available storage capacity. By setting the drop-off fee to zero for all applicable equipment types, Maersk aims to enhance operational resilience and support cargo flow continuity under prevailing logistical constraints.

Applicable rates are as follows:  

• 20-foot container: ZAR 4,200 → ZAR 0  

• 40-foot dry container: ZAR 4,500 → ZAR 0  

All other tariff provisions, including surcharges, validity conditions, and contractual terms, remain unchanged. For non-spot bookings, the applicable rate is determined based on the Price Calculation Date; for spot bookings, the booking date serves as the Price Calculation Date.

Maersk continues to closely monitor depot performance and broader port conditions in Durban and will promptly communicate any subsequent adjustments as operational circumstances evolve.
