Maersk will implement revised fuel surcharge rates for trucking services in Greece and Skopje, effective 14 September 2026. The updated rates are as follows:
Greece: 15%
Skopje: 25%
These adjustments reflect sustained increases in fuel procurement costs, primarily driven by ongoing geopolitical developments in the Middle East. To ensure greater transparency and responsiveness to market volatility, Maersk will now review and update these surcharges on a weekly basis—replacing the previous monthly review cycle. Rates for the upcoming week will be published every Friday, with no predefined cost-threshold trigger required for adjustment.
The surcharges will be itemized on invoices using the standard codes: EFS (Export Fuel Surcharge) and IFS (Import Fuel Surcharge). This measure remains subject to periodic reassessment and will remain in effect for the duration necessary to fully offset the elevated fuel-related operational expenses.
