The investment aligns with Gulftainer’s global expansion strategy, which prioritizes markets exhibiting robust long-term economic fundamentals, strong manufacturing ecosystems, and growing regional trade connectivity.

Suksawat Terminal serves as a key multimodal gateway for importers and exporters across Greater Bangkok and benefits from direct barge connectivity to Laem Chabang Port—the Kingdom’s largest deep-sea container port—enabling efficient intermodal transfer between inland and maritime logistics networks.

Under Gulftainer’s stewardship, the terminal will undergo phased capacity enhancement, operational modernization, and service portfolio expansion. These initiatives aim to strengthen its integration within Thailand’s national supply chain infrastructure—particularly supporting manufacturing clusters and distribution hubs—and to improve seamless connectivity among Bangkok, Laem Chabang, and global shipping lanes.

The terminal will cater to a diversified customer base across priority sectors, including automotive, electronics, consumer goods, petrochemicals, and agri-food exports—reflecting Thailand’s strategic role in regional and global value chains.

The development will leverage synergies across Gulftainer’s integrated business units—GT Ports (terminal operations), GT Logistics (inland transport and warehousing), GT Parks (industrial zones), and GT Lines (maritime services)—to deliver a unified, end-to-end trade and logistics platform.

Farid Belbouab, Group Chief Executive Officer of Gulftainer, stated: “Thailand represents a pivotal milestone in our international growth journey. Suksawat Terminal provides an established, operational foundation in one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic manufacturing, consumption, and export-oriented economies. Our ambition extends beyond terminal ownership: we are committed to building a nationally scaled, integrated trade and logistics ecosystem—one that connects ports, inland corridors, industrial infrastructure, and maritime services to enhance customers’ access to regional and global markets.”

This investment forms a cornerstone of Gulftainer’s broader Asia–Middle East–Africa–Indian Subcontinent corridor strategy. Thailand serves as both a strategic hub and a springboard for further investments across the country and neighboring ASEAN markets.
