The service unifies Maersk’s proprietary ocean network with its dedicated inland transport infrastructure—enabling customers to manage multimodal shipments through a single contractual interface and digital platform. According to Maersk, this integrated model enhances real-time cargo visibility, improves schedule adherence, streamlines operational planning, and reduces end-to-end supply chain complexity.
Under the new operating model, all import and export bookings to and from Milazzo will be accepted exclusively on a Carrier Haulage basis. This entails Maersk assuming full responsibility for pre-carriage (origin inland movement) and on-carriage (destination inland movement), including equipment provision, driver management, and regulatory compliance.
Maersk states that this vertically integrated approach ensures end-to-end control over critical handover points, thereby delivering greater operational consistency, enhanced delivery predictability, and a more resilient and simplified logistics experience for customers.
