Maersk has announced revised Intermodal Fuel Surcharges (EFS/IFS) for several European markets, effective 6–20 July 2026. This adjustment reflects sustained upward pressure on global energy prices and disruptions to fuel supply chains stemming from ongoing security developments in the Middle East.  

The surcharges will continue to be reviewed biweekly to ensure alignment with evolving market conditions.  

Region-specific rates are as follows:  

• Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg): 7% for truck transport and barge & BCO services; 3.5% for RCO services.  

• DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland): 4% for truck transport and barge & BCO services; 2% for RCO services.  

• Poland: 4% for truck transport; 2% for RCO services.  

These percentages apply to IHI/IHE base charges and are designed to offset increased inland transportation fuel costs—thereby supporting service reliability and preserving vendor capacity across Maersk’s intermodal network. The Intermodal Fuel Surcharge was initially introduced on 16 March 2026 and remains subject to periodic review in light of persistent volatility in global energy markets.
