Far-East-India service reshaped
2026-06-11

The Far East–India joint service—formerly operated collaboratively by Emirates Shipping Line, Evergreen Marine Corporation, Gold Star Line, and KMTC—is undergoing structural reorganization, with the existing alliance dissolving into two distinct, independently managed service loops, as reported by industry news.

Under the revised arrangement, Gold Star Line will partner with Global Feeder Shipping to launch a redesigned NIX service. This loop will deploy five vessels averaging approximately 5,000 TEU and will follow a rotation connecting Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen (Da Chan), Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Hazira, Mundra, Port Klang, Haiphong, and returning to Shanghai via Haiphong.

Concurrently, the remaining carriers—Emirates Shipping Line, Evergreen Marine Corporation, and KMTC—will continue operating the rebranded CSX2/CIX3/AIS3 service. This loop will be served by six vessels averaging roughly 7,500 TEU and will call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Shenzhen (Shekou), Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Port Klang, and return to Shanghai.

This strategic realignment reflects broader industry trends toward modular network design and carrier-specific capacity optimization along the Far East–India corridor. By disaggregating the former joint service, participants gain enhanced operational autonomy, improved schedule reliability, and greater agility in responding to regional demand fluctuations, port infrastructure upgrades, and evolving regulatory requirements.
