For U.S.-bound shipments, the GRI applies uniformly to dry and refrigerated (reefer) containers across all destination points in the United States—including imports via West Coast ports, East Coast ports, Gulf Coast ports, and intermodal services (rail- and truck-connected inland destinations).
The revised rates are as follows:
USD 2,400 per 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU)
USD 3,000 per 40-foot container
USD 3,375 per 40-foot high-cube container
USD 3,798 per 45-foot container
The GRI covers exports from key origin countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
For Canada-bound cargo, the same effective date—1 July 2026—applies. The increase is applicable to both direct port calls and intermodal movements, including shipments arriving at Vancouver and Prince Rupert on the West Coast, as well as all-water and intermodal services serving Eastern Canadian destinations.
The corresponding GRI rates for Canadian imports are:
USD 2,700 per 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU)
USD 3,000 per 40-foot container
USD 3,375 per 40-foot high-cube container
USD 3,798 per 45-foot container
These adjustments apply to all Canadian destinations without exception.
