2026-05-21

CMA CGM has announced revised Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for containerized cargo shipments from Mediterranean ports to key destination regions—including the Middle East Gulf, Red Sea, and Far East—effective 1 June 2026, subject to further notice.

For the Middle East Gulf trade lane:

• West Mediterranean and Adriatic ports: USD 6,000 per 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU) and USD 6,100 per 40-foot equivalent unit (FEU);

• East Mediterranean ports: USD 6,500 per TEU and USD 6,600 per FEU;

• Black Sea ports: USD 6,600 per TEU and USD 6,700 per FEU.

For the Red Sea trade lane:

• Rates vary by origin port, ranging from USD 2,000 to USD 3,100 per TEU;

• East Mediterranean ports offer the most competitive rates at USD 2,000 per TEU and USD 2,100 per FEU.

For the Far East trade lane:

• Base FAK rates are applied uniformly to both TEU and FEU shipments: USD 145 from West Mediterranean ports; USD 225 from Adriatic ports; USD 350 from East Mediterranean ports; and USD 400 from Black Sea ports.

These rates apply to dry cargo and paying empty containers originating from major Mediterranean gateway ports and destined for designated base ports in the respective regions. Additional charges—including outport surcharges, terminal handling charges (THC), peak season surcharges (PSS), and security-related fees (e.g., ISPS, AMS, AEO)—may apply, as stipulated in CMA CGM’s applicable tariff and service conditions.
