Ningbo Ocean Shipping Co., Ltd. has formally announced the discontinuation of its China–Korea–Japan (CKS) container service, effective 15 July 2026, as part of a strategic realignment of its intra-Asia network to enhance service efficiency and geographic coverage.
The CKS service—previously operating a loop connecting Ningbo, Shanghai, and Busan with Hakata and Moji in Japan—has been withdrawn following a comprehensive review of cargo demand patterns, port utilization metrics, and vessel deployment optimization. To maintain seamless connectivity to Hakata and Moji, these ports will now be integrated into the reconfigured CJKS1 service, which replaces Nagoya in its rotation.
Concurrently, Nagoya has been reassigned to the updated CJKT1 service. This adjustment enables more balanced cargo distribution across key Japanese gateways and supports improved schedule reliability on both routes.
The revised CJKS1 rotation is as follows: Zhapu → Ningbo → Hakata → Moji → Osaka → Kobe → Zhapu.
The updated CJKT1 rotation is: Zhapu → Ningbo → Nagoya → Shimizu → Tokyo → Yokohama → Zhapu.
These network refinements reflect Ningbo Ocean’s commitment to data-driven route management and operational excellence. By consolidating underutilized services and reallocating port calls based on trade flow analysis and terminal capacity utilization, the company strengthens the resilience, responsiveness, and cost-efficiency of its regional liner network.
