The vessels are set to be built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, with delivery anticipated for the second half of 2028.
In addition, two current orders for 9,300 CEU vessels will be upgraded to the 11,700 CEU “Shaper” class. Consequently, the company’s fleet will include eight “Shapers” and six smaller vessels, totaling 149,400 CEUs.
The identical Chinese shipyard is also tasked with constructing two LNG/dual fuel 4,500 CEU PCTCs for the Norwegian shortsea expert United European Car Carriers (UECC), with the possibility of an extra two vessels being added. These ships will feature ten decks, including two that are hoistable, and a stern ramp at the quarter with a safe working load capacity of 160 tons.
