The Norwegian car transport company, Wallenius Wilhelmsen, has sealed a five-year contract with a major producer of agricultural, forestry, and road construction machinery.

Slated to commence on December 1st, this shipping and logistics pact is estimated to be worth around $766 million over the course of five years, contingent upon projected shipment volumes.

The agreed-upon rates are consistent with current market standards, and the contract encompasses a collaborative effort towards decarbonization. Under this arrangement, the yet-to-be-disclosed client has agreed to fund the transition to environmentally friendly and renewable fuels, as per Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s official statement.

Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen, remarked, “By reinforcing our enduring collaboration with a crucial client in the high and heavy segment, this agreement mirrors their requirement for assured, long-term sea transportation capacity, as well as their dedication to reducing the carbon footprint of their supply chain. This refreshed contract expands upon the comprehensive logistics and digital supply chain support we already deliver on a global scale for them. It includes our holistic service approach, where we expertly coordinate the movement of goods and data throughout the entire outbound supply chain, from the point of manufacturing to the ports serving the final destinations.”
