The world's largest container line, MSC, has made the decision to adjust the rotation of its service connecting the United States with the East Coast of South America in order to enhance schedule reliability.
Consequently, Florida's Port Everglades will be reintroducing Brazil's port of Itajai to replace the port of Navegantes in the service rotation.
The new rotation:
New York (US) – Norfolk (US) – Baltimore (US) – Charleston (US) – Savannah (US) – Port Everglades (US) – Freeport (US) – Cristobal (Panama) – Santos (Brazil) – Buenos Aires (Argentina) – Montevideo (Uruguay) – Rio Grande (Brazil) – Itajai (Brazil) – Paranagua (Brazil) – Santos – Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) – Salvador (El Salvador) – Colon/Cristobal (Panama) – Freeport – New York
(The first vessel to operate on the updated port rotation will be MSC Alma VII with voyage number 443A/448R.)
