Independently developed and constructed by Hudong Zhonghua, the 14,000 cu meters vessel has a length of 130 meters and a width of 23.6 meters. The LNG dual-fuel propulsion system enables the vessel to sail along the Yangtze River as well as at sea.
The ship fitted a dozen types of equipment and technologies on board with a localisation rate of more than 85%, the highest level for a Chinese LNG transport and storage vessel.
“Delivery of the vessel makes a great significance for implementing the carbon emissions reduction strategy and gasification along the Yangtze River, accelerating LNG-powered vessel refueling and LNG-powered vessel transformation in the Yangtze River delta region,” said Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding.
Ports in Yangtze river delta posted a cargo throughput of 7.04 billion tons and 110 million teu container volume last year, accounting for 41.5% and 38.5% of national volume respectively.
